Frequently asked questions

Everything teams ask before they connect an account

Setup time, cloud coverage, credential handling, remediation safety, and how FinOps Co-Pilot compares to the tools you may already be running. If something here is not answered, our team will tell you plainly where a capability is still maturing.

Getting started

Setup time, trials, and what you need before you connect an account.

How long does setup take?

Under 15 minutes. Connect your cloud account with provider-native trust models, and cost data starts flowing within the hour. Full setup including policies and integrations typically lands in under a day.

Can I try it for free?

Yes — every new signup gets a free trial with premium capabilities unlocked. No credit card is required, and you can choose the right paid tier from the pricing page when you are ready.

Do I need to install anything?

FinOps Co-Pilot is a web application, so most teams do not install anything locally. The optional GitHub App and Kubernetes agent are one-time setup steps and both are designed to take under five minutes.

Does it work with multi-account organizations?

Yes. Pro supports up to 9 cloud accounts across all providers. Business scales to 30+ accounts. Enterprise supports unlimited accounts with dedicated infrastructure.

Cloud & platform coverage

Which clouds, orchestrators, and infrastructure-as-code workflows are supported.

Does FinOps Co-Pilot support AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes in one platform?

Yes. It is designed for multi-cloud and Kubernetes environments, with provider-native onboarding, unified spend visibility, detector coverage, and workload attribution across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes.

Do you support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)?

Yes. OCI connects through its own native credential flow alongside AWS, Azure, and GCP. Automated waste remediation is deepest on AWS today, with Azure, GCP, and OCI support real but comparatively narrower — we will always tell you plainly where a capability is still maturing rather than overselling parity across every cloud.

Do you support Kubernetes?

Yes. Native integration with Kubecost and OpenCost plus a lightweight Kubernetes agent for namespace, deployment, and team attribution with rightsizing and idle workload detection.

Can FinOps Co-Pilot analyze Terraform changes before deployment?

Yes. FinOps Co-Pilot runs PR Cost Diff on infrastructure changes so teams can see monthly cost deltas, policy outcomes, and budget risk before merge.

Security & safety

Credential handling, audit trails, and the guardrails around automated action.

Is my data safe?

Yes. AWS uses IAM AssumeRole with no static access keys stored. Azure and GCP credentials are encrypted at rest, never exposed in logs or UI responses, and every write action is approval-gated with immutable audit logging.

What if auto-remediation breaks something?

Every action requires human approval. Protected-tag safety ensures critical resources are never touched. Rate limiting (10 actions/min), full audit trail, and dry-run mode provide multiple safety layers.

What AI models do you use?

Multi-provider LLM support (GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini) for Apex. Facebook Prophet and SARIMAX for forecasting, backtested against real history with the error rate shown honestly, and automatic model selection based on accuracy metrics.

Evaluation & alternatives

How FinOps Co-Pilot fits next to the tools you may already be running.

What is FinOps software?

FinOps software helps engineering, finance, and operations teams understand, govern, and optimize cloud spend. FinOps Co-Pilot combines cost visibility, forecasting, policy controls, PR analysis, waste detection, and approval-gated remediation in one platform.

How is this different from CloudHealth?

FinOps Co-Pilot offers multi-cloud visibility, AI intelligence, PR cost analysis, and automated remediation in one platform, with a more accessible self-serve starting tier than traditional enterprise-only FinOps tooling.
