Switching cost tools

Move from CloudHealth without starting from scratch

Varcio can import your CloudHealth perspectives, organisation units, roles and policies, then run beside CloudHealth so you can compare the numbers before you switch. You keep the structure you spent years building and verify the new figures against the old ones.

What moves

Import the structure, not just the data

The hard part of changing cost tools is rebuilding years of decisions about who pays for what.

  • PerspectivesHow you slice cloud spend
  • Organisation unitsReporting and ownership
  • RolesAccess as you run it today
  • PoliciesGuardrails you rely on

Perspectives

Your CloudHealth perspectives, the groupings that encode how your business slices cloud spend, are imported rather than rebuilt by hand.

Organisation units

Your organisation units come across so reporting lines and ownership carry over.

Roles

Your roles are imported, so access follows the way your organisation already works.

Policies

Your existing policies are imported, so guardrails you already rely on do not disappear during the move.

Import is available under Organization, Move from CloudHealth, in the Varcio product. Allocation, ownership and governance in Varcio are covered by Business Mappings, Ownership and Policies.

The move

A parallel run you can trust

Finance will not switch on faith. The migration is built around running both and comparing.

  1. 01

    Connect your accounts read-only

Connect AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle with read-only credentials. Varcio checks permissions and says exactly what is missing.

  2. 02

    Import your CloudHealth setup

Bring across perspectives, organisation units, roles and policies from the Move from CloudHealth screen.

  3. 03

    Run beside CloudHealth

Let both tools run for at least one full billing cycle so month-end figures can be compared like for like.

  4. 04

    Compare the numbers

Reconcile totals and the allocation of shared costs, and record every difference with its cause.

  5. 05

    Re-point alerts and integrations

Move chat, ticketing and CI/CD hooks over before you retire the old tool.

  6. 06

    Switch when you are satisfied

Turn off the old tool once the numbers reconcile and your teams have the views they need.

What you gain

Beyond reporting: findings that become approved action

The reason to switch is rarely the dashboard. It is what happens after the dashboard.

316 active detectors

Costed findings across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle and Kubernetes, ranked by savings, confidence and effort.

Approval-gated remediation

Fixes run behind protected tags, dry run, execution windows and a full audit log, with realised savings verified against the bill.

Pre-merge cost review

Terraform changes are priced and policy-checked in the pull request, before they ship.

Plans with published limits

Fixed monthly plans for Explorer, Pro and Business, with Enterprise by agreement, and the limits of each plan published on the pricing page.

AI spend and GPUs

AI Infrastructure and AI Economics cover token and GPU spend that traditional tools were not built for.

One platform for reliability too

Service Monitoring and Real User Monitoring sit in the same workspace as cost.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What does the CloudHealth import bring across?

It imports your CloudHealth perspectives, organisation units, roles and policies, then lets you run Varcio beside CloudHealth and compare the numbers.

Do I have to turn CloudHealth off first?

No. The move is designed as a parallel run so you can compare Varcio’s figures with CloudHealth’s for a full billing cycle before you switch.

Will the numbers match exactly?

Differences are normal, because tools can define cost measures such as blended, unblended and amortised differently. Reconcile totals first, then shared-cost allocation, and record each difference with its cause.

How is Varcio priced?

Varcio plans are fixed monthly prices for Explorer, Pro and Business, with Enterprise by agreement. See the pricing page for current plans and limits.

Can you help with the move?

Yes. Our FinOps services team can run the parallel comparison and re-point allocation, alerts and integrations with you.
